Blake Silver and Joey Elkins

$0.00

Blake Silver is a writer, director and actor. Notably, he was on the directing team for Deaf West’s Tony-nominated Broadway revival of “Spring Awakening” which brought the musical to life through American Sign Language. The New York Times called it “transporting.” In addition to deaf cast members, it featured the first Broadway performer in a wheelchair and was the first Broadway production to provide interpretation for deaf-blind theatergoers. Recently, Broadway World raved that his site-specific direction of "The Turn of the Screw" was "elemental magic" and "exquisitely realized." Additionally, Blake directed the workshop of NBC's "Saved By The Bell" musical and was on the directing team for "Merrily We Roll Along" at the Wallis Annenberg in Beverly Hills as well as the one-man “A Christmas Carol” starring Jefferson Mays at the Geffen Playhouse. For television, Writer/Director credits include the musical television pilot, "Boyfred" (ABC/Sony), starring Tony winner Jessie Mueller with executive producers Thomas Schlamme and Bruce Helford. As an actor Blake can be seen in “Kidding,” "Thor,” and "Hot In Cleveland” among others.

Joey Elkins has worked in the writer’s room for many shows, including series on CBS, ABC, The CW, and Netflix. Joey and his writing partner Blake Silver write inventive, high-concept genre shows that are grounded in character... but they're nothing if not versatile, and their recently produced projects include the cable romcoms A CHRISTMAS DUET and LOVE ON ICELAND. They've placed 2nd in the Final Draft Big Break Contest, and their short films have premiered in the LA International Shorts Festival, among others. Joey is also an artist, and was selected for the Pictoplasma Character Design Conference in Berlin, and has shown in several galleries. He and Blake have been best friends since the 3rd grade.
