Joel Perlgut & Vic Zerbst

Joel Perlgut is a writer and filmmaker living in Sydney.

He's made short films like ‘Sad Sachs’ and the AWGIE-award winning 'I F*cked a Mermaid and No One Believes Me' and the the co-creator and writer of ‘Girt by Fear,’ the horror-comedy web-series, which went on receive development funding from Screen Australia and the ABC.

Joel's short films and web series have played at festivals like Raindance, Flickerfest, St. Kilda, Interfilm Berlin, Aesthetica UK and LA Web Fest and been featured in VICE, SMH, SBS Online and the Daily Telegraph.

He's also worked as a writer’s assistant for film and TV at companies like Studiocanal Australia, Lingo Pictures and Giant Dwarf on shows like ‘Mr Inbetween’ (FX) and ‘Upright’ (Sky UK/Foxtel).

Vic Zerbst is an award-winning comedy writer and political satirist. Their work with the The Feed comedy team for SBS has won them two AWGIE awards and amassed over 80 million views online. As a comedian, they have toured nationally with The Chaser and recently co-directed The War in 2020 web series funded by Screen Australia, which garnered them an Australian Director’s Guild Nomination. Vic was also the 2020 recipient of the ATYP Rebel Wilson Commission, for which they are currently writing a musical. Vic uses they/she pronouns.
