Lucy Coleman
Lucy Coleman is a screenwriter-director born and raised in Sydney, Australia. Her debut feature film HOT MESS was made on a shoestring budget, swept the festivals and was named "one of the best Australian films of 2019" naming Lucy “one of the most exciting new voices in Australian Cinema”. Her web series ON THE FRINGE was released in 2018 picking up a number of awards. Lucy's first short film HOT KEBAB GUY won the New Voices Competition at ATYP and was the kickstart of Lucy baring all on screen and diving into the most humiliating aspects of modern womanhood.
In 2020 Lucy was nominated for two Australian Directors Guild awards for both Best Feature Director (HOT MESS) and Best Commercial Content Director (Koala Ex-Orcism).
Lucy is currently a writer on the new Hoodlum/ Lucky Chap anthology series SHAKESPEARE NOW and is the lead pilot writer on a new Australian adult animation ROCK BOTTOM. Lucy has her second feature film as writer/ director WITCHES development with Truant Pictures.
Lucy graduated from UNSW with an Undergraduate in Media (Screen & Sound), University of Sydney with a Masters of Creative Writing and from AFTRS with a Post Graduate in Screenwriting. Her favourite movie forever and always is SPICE WORLD.
