Romi Barta

In 5th grade, Romi wrote a series of short stories that followed Detective Jenny Craig and her assistant Fred Segal whose mission was to solve most mysteries in the world but still be fashionable. Spoiler alert, she’s from LA. She went to Northwestern to study theater and USC for her MFA in screenwriting. She began her career writing for SANTA CLARITA DIET on Netflix, has written for ALEXA & KATIE on Netflix, FOURSOME on YouTube Premium, and the CBS Diversity Showcase. She’s also developed for Disney Television Animation and the Imagine Impact program where her writing mentor was Victoria Strouse. She has been nominated for a WGA award and was a finalist in the Humanitas Originals category at the Austin Film Festival. And yes, Detective Jenny Craig is still available to option.
