Sam Barrett and Megan Palinkas

Sam was born in Perth, Western Australia. After graduating with a Masters in Screen Studies he wrote and directed three independent feature films. The most recent, Dark Sister, was acquired by Wild Side Releasing and broadcast nationwide in Australia. After directing TV commercials and a children’s television series Sam went through a “boiler plate existential crisis”. He fled his hometown to evolve his story-brain and achieved an Honours degree in English Literature. He teaches screenwriting and is currently developing a science fiction drama series in the inaugural Imagine Impact Australia accelerator program.

Megan Palinkas is from Fremantle, Western Australia. Before becoming a screenwriter Megan sampled a sushi train of professions from music teacher to outback bartender. Megan’s career launched when she won an Australian Writers Guild sponsored internship at Neighbours, the country’s iconic and beloved serial drama. She spent 4 years writing for the show and became the Supervising Script Editor. Megan was most recently a writer on Seasons 1 and 2 of Matchbox Pictures’ (NBCUniversal) critically acclaimed series The Heights.
