Vidhya Iyer was born in Nigeria to Indian parents. At the age of 12, her parents sent her to India where she lived alone with no adult supervision. She majored in Computer Engineering and managed an Italian restaurant while in college, after which she made the obvious transition into screenwriting. She also performs improv and standup. Vidhya is an AFI graduate and a CAPE New Writers Fellow. She is represented by Meyer Management and Kaplan-Stahler Agency.
